MS SQL
Microsoft's SQL Server is the industry standard RDBMS for use with Microsoft Windows. You will need to maintain your database using Enterprise Manager, which will give you full control over your database.

MYSQL
MySQL is the most popular open source database and widely considered the standard database for use with Linux. There are many tools freely available to manage your MySQL database, such as DBTools.
